How long does it take to get my membership package
after I donate?
Generally, it takes four to six weeks for processing.
Please be patient! We try our hardest to get them
out as quickly as possible. If you have not received
your membership package after that time, please
contact
us.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Gifts to the Surfrider Foundation are tax-deductible
under section 170(c) of the U.S. Internal Revenue
Code, in accordance with IRS regulations. The
Foundation will provide written acknowledgment
for all charitable donations.
How can I change my contact information?

If you need to change any of your information,
renew online, or turn on/off the automatic renewal
option, then you can go to your account.
The email we have on file will be the email you
use, and if you do not have a password then click
the link below the sign in information. It will
automatically send a password to the email you
enter if we have it on file. If this does not
work for you, please email membership@surfrider.org
and ask to add your current email to your account.
When emailing, please include your member ID,
your old address, and your new address.
How can I find out when my membership expires?
The expiration date will be listed on your membership
card. It's also listed in your surfrider
account. You can also find your membership
expiration date in the contribution checkbox on
any mailings you receive.
I recently renewed my membership, so why I am
still receiving renewal notices?
Sometimes your renewal payment gets posted to
your membership after we have pulled the file
to send the next month's renewal notices. If you
responded to an appeal, your payment will not
have been recorded as a renewal. It is also possible
that a duplicate account was created. Please check
the number directly above your name on the mailing
label to see if the membership numbers are different.
If so, please send an email to membership@surfrider.org
to have your duplicate memberships merged.
What if I received an incorrect shirt
size?
Unless otherwise specified, memberships of $100
or more include a Large t-shirt. If you received
the wrong size, you may send the shirt back (please
include the correct size) to:

I purchased a joint membership, but have not
received my magazine yet (ie: Surfer Magazine,
Surfer's Path, or Longboard) When should I expect
to receive it?
It takes approximately 1-2 months to receive
your first magazine. Subscriptions are sent directly
from the magazine you subscribe to. The magazines
that are sent out bi-monthly may take longer depending
on when they get your information and how long
it is until their next issue is sent out. If you
have questions about your subscription, you should
contact the magazine directly.

I want to donate in memory of a loved one or in
honor of someone. How can I do that?
Donors may wish to donate in memory of a loved
one who passed away. Please go to our general
donation page, and enter the memorial or tribute
information in the message field. On memorial
donations, if there is a memorial fund set up,
we notify the family of te person who passed away.
To set up a memorial fund, all we need to know
is who Surfrider Foundation should notify of the
donation that was made.

I want to specify what my donation goes toward.
What are my options for doing so?
Donors may designate their gifts to a specific
region, chapter or campaign. Otherwise, all donations
will go towards general support of the Surfrider
Foundation.
Can I make my gift anonymously?
Yes, the Surfrider Foundation respects all requests
for anonymity. Please indicate your desire to
remain anonymous in written correspondence accompanying
your gift.
My employer participates in a matching-gift program,
but requires verification of my contribution.
Where can I get the forms and where do I send
them?
The human resources department at your company
should have the forms. Complete them and send

Can I get discounts using my Surfrider membership
card?
Surfrider membership entitles you to a variety
of benefits. Please visit our Retailers page for
a complete list of discounts.
Can I sponsor a membership for someone else?
Yes, you can purchase a gift membership for someone
else. You pay for the membership (at any level)
and the other person receives the benefits. Please
go to our gift
membership page. Acknowledgements will be
sent to the donor and the person named who inspired
the gift. You can also give a donation to the
Surfrider Foundation in honor of friends and family
for different occasions. Please see our gift donation
page.
How can I include Surfrider Foundation in my
will or living trust?
You can make a gift (bequest) to the Surfrider
Foundation through your will or living trust by
designating a percentage of your total estate,
the residue or a portion of the residue, or a
specific dollar amount. See our info page

How can I give a gift of stock?
Giving appreciated stock to Surfrider Foundation
can mean tax benefits for you. See our page on stock donations

What is The Ring?
Keeper of the Coast is Surfrider Foundation's
monthly giving program. Participants of the Monthly
Giving Program agree to ongoing monthly payments.
Monthly giving members do not receive renewal
notices, they receive one annual letter. Please
